The House Beyond the Fog
The rain had stopped sometime before dawn. Mist clung to the eaves and drifted through the pines like breath. The cobblestones shone with damp, reflecting lanternlight from somewhere beyond the fog.
Mara tightened the cloak around her shoulders. She had not come here for answers. She had come because the story demanded it.
